Leaving SF arriving in Corciano

Mike gave me a wonderful sendoff on Sunday at 7 am with hugs, kisses and yummy sandwiches. I met up with all of the other folks on our flight and we had a great time getting to know each other and we had a smooth flight. We arrived in Rome around 11am and were greeted by Jason who organized the whole trip and Thomas another teacher who is helping Jason. (PICS = Getting ready the night before & SF airport)

We had a beautiful two hour drive from Rome to our town, Corciano. We met Jason's family. His wife Shelley and there sons Ben, Isaac, Grason, and Tyler (they are too cute.) Then we were dropped off at all of our different apartments around town. I ended up going along in the van to see everyone's places. There are 3 guys in side the main city walls. Then down the hill is myself, Jen and Allison. Then up another hill are Robert, Sean and Thomas. And finally down another a hill (a hill I know very well because I have to go up and down that sucker every time I need to use the internet, hence no regular blogging :) are Amy, April, Sam, Eileen, Barbara, Judy, Theo (in a different apartment) and Jason and his family (in a different apartment.)

Jen and I christened our apartment with some espresso on our terrace. Yummy! Then Shelley took us on tour of Corciano after having gelato at the local gellatoria (L'Arte del Gelato.)

Later we had dinner at a restaurant outside of Corciano and of course I had my favorite, Gnochi, and a beer (birra.) After we got back I checked my email at what I now call the "villanet" and then we came back to our place finally unpacked and crashed.
