Castiglione del Lago and a ThUnDeR sToRm (6-30)

I started the morning with a 7 am chat with Mike. Great like always :)

Then I had Jason's class and we went to a town called Castiglione del Lago along Lake Trasimeno (HUGE.)

Our focus was drawing trees today. I felt pretty happy with my results. At the end he asked us to put the trees in an environment, so in the last hour I did a quick sketch and then did a watercolor of the same scene. I was really happy with the watercolor because I did it so fast (with the guidance of Jen. THANKS JEN!)
I remember liking watercolor back in the day and creating things that I was proud of, but I have to say I am definitely going to continue down this route because I had a good time with it and like the results.

Later we found out that Jason was going back to Perugia to help Eileen with her crashed computer (all is well with it now, btw) and that we could go. So Allison, Jen and I and a whole van full of others went with the plan of clothes shopping. Before we hit the road we had to get gas and GET THIS.....it cost 108 euro (about $164) to fill up the van. WOW!

In the end, I just bought some Turpentine, pizza and a beer because I decided I didn't want to take the bus back. Turns out we all ended up going back on the van.

On the way back to Corciano it started raining and thundering. It was beautiful. It was one of those days when you just want to curl up on the couch and relax.

After the storm the sun came out in a brilliant way that I have never seen here. The town was gorgeous, so the roomies and I went out to shoot some pics.

Tomorrow is Carolyn's class and on Wednesday we are having Jason's class in Siena (woo hoo) and then afterwards we are going to watch Siena's Palio Horse Race. At first I was hesitant because I can't stand anything that involves horses being raced and potentially treated poorly, but I decided I am going for the experience and might just close my eyes when the horses are let go. Yeah right!
