Lazy Saturday/Solstice Party

Today was a truly lazy Saturday. Everyone was wiped out including me. I "slept in" for the first time and spent most of the day on my computer.

I found out around 6 pm that there was going to be a spontaneous gathering to see the moon rise. So about six of us went to the guys place at the monastery on top of the hill and had a potluck dinner. (Pics = Allison's homemade Sangria and my plate of food.)

The monastery is beautiful, but there is an on going joke that there are ghost there because it is also a little creepy. I like the monastery though. On the grounds there are donkeys, lamas, deer, goats, roosters and beautiful views for days.

After the dinner we couldn't find the moon because the monastery was blocking it so we decided to go to the music festival again, but we never made it because we stopped at the only bar in town and never left. We had a great time there and once again I had an opportunity to use my Italian to help some folks and me pick and order beverages. I also was just able to practice basic conversation. I have really found that most of the Italians I have encountered have been very patient with me trying to speak Italian and have helped me learn new phrases etc. I am looking forward to getting better especially since we are starting our Italian lessons on Wednesday. (Pics = Shadows on monastery wall and pseudo Charlie's Angels...can you see where I am?)
