Welcome breakfast/Grocery shopping/Welcome Dinner

We had a yummy welcome breakfast prepared for us by one of the main host's wife, Deana. I had fresh strawberries, ridiculously tasty German yogurt (Muller brand), a plum, orange juice and coffee.

Then we had lunch at Il Convento. It is an old convent that was converted into a restaurant. I shared a delicious ravioli with Jen and some white wine with folks at our table

The group split in half and went grocery shopping at a store named Pam about 10 minutes outside of town. There is a small local grocery store but this one is a lot bigger and cheaper. I think half of mine and my roommate's groceries was alcohol and wine :) What can I say, we are in Italy and we have to have some wine and Grappe….and Peroni and beer, right? I love green olives and cheap wine.

We had our welcome dinner at Deana and Gabriella's house tonight. It was a great time. We all gathered in their living room and had a four course dinner. 1st was the antipasti, 2nd was cream pasta with meat (primo), veal, insalata and caprese insalata (secondi) , and last but not least yummy tiramisu. And for anyone that knows me I don't really like Italian deserts or Tirimasu (waste of sugar in my opininion) but this was just yummy. Granted we multiple glasses of wine deep. After the dinner we sat around and watched Italy win their soccer match.

At the end of the night we went back to our place and had drinks with Sean. I took some night pictures from our terrace. We had so much fun and stayed up till 4am talking and laughing.
